1. About the Client
• Can you tell us a few words about your company and its activity?
Cityzen Parking & Services is the first parking management company in Greece, created from the renaming of Central Parking System Athens in 2015. Its origins trace back to Central Parking System Corporation in the USA, founded in 1968. Cityzen has evolved into a provider of integrated parking services, focusing on innovation, digital management through its Cityzen App, and offering infrastructure for sustainable urban mobility — such as electric vehicle charging stations and hubs for alternative means of transportation.

• What are the main challenges or goals in your industry?
At Cityzen, our goal is to offer our extensive clientele not just the best parking services in Greece but a holistic experience that meets all their needs.
For Cityzen, the customer comes first. “You First!” — two words that define and clearly express this commitment, representing both our brand identity and our corporate philosophy.

2. The Problem / Need
• What was the main problem or need that led you to seek a solution?
Following a phishing incident, we faced the challenge of finding a secure method for remote work while remaining protected under the company’s firewall.

• What was the most difficult aspect of your daily operations?
Until recently, there was no clear visibility into the security standards of the networks that employees were connecting to while working remotely.

• What other solutions had you tried before?
The previous solution in place was a VPN, which ensured connection between the user’s computer and the company’s central system but did not guarantee security.

3. The Solution Provided by Orthology
• What made you choose our service/product?
The level of security, flexibility, and ultimately the speed of working within the remote environment.

• How was the collaboration/implementation process?
A new, powerful server was deployed within the client’s infrastructure, hosting a Microsoft Hyper-V provider. Inside this environment, a Windows 11 virtual machine was created as a template, with all the client’s required applications pre-installed. From this template, cloned virtual desktops were generated — each new clone taking only a few seconds to create and being immediately ready for use. As a result, every user now has their own fast, personal online virtual computer, accessible from anywhere and on any platform (PC, laptop, Android, iOS) with maximum security.

• Was there anything that impressed you positively?
The client initially felt secure but was also impressed by the speed and performance — each user no longer needs a powerful physical computer to work, as they can simply open Parallels and access their assigned virtual PC, enjoying a “flagship-level” experience.

4. Results
• What changes did you observe after implementing the solution?
Anyone can now work across multiple platforms, even on tablets. Additionally, the onboarding time for new employees has been significantly reduced, as everything they need is already pre-installed on their cloned virtual machine.

• Can you provide specific examples (e.g., measurable results, time improvement, cost reduction, increased sales)?
According to reports from the past six months, IT tasks related to onboarding new employees have been reduced by 40%. Furthermore, IT support requests regarding VPN connection or configuration issues have been completely eliminated, optimizing operational time for the client.
